what we do
Within the objects of the Trust, we aim to promote and assist:
- Research into the prevention of, protection from or response to, fire and rescue service related risks posed to businesses or communities
- Training fire and rescue service personnel
- Securing improvements in appliances of value to the fire and rescue service
- Securing the general efficiency and effectiveness of UK fire and rescue services as a whole
the trustees
Our Trustees are drawn from across the fire sector and beyond, bringing a wide variety of experience and capabilities. All are volunteers and keen to see the Trust continue to support the UK FRS. The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the Trust continues to deliver against its objects and complies with all legal requirements placed on trusts and the charity sector.
Watch this space for the names of new Trustees who will be joining us soon.
our values
- INDEPENDENCE: Whilst we will work with other bodies on specific projects, our overall strategy, direction and programme of work will remain independent, as set by the Trustees.
- PUBLIC BENEFIT: We won’t ally the Trust to, or provide commercial advantage to, any commercial organisation or group of commercial organisations.
- IMPACT: We will monitor and report on the effectiveness of our work to make sure our funds positively impact our objectives.
our history
The Fire Service Research and Training Trust (FSR&TT) was established 1940, using funding provided by the insurance sector to encourage study and experiment on fire protection and prevention.
